Interim Fund Controller

A leading Asset Manager that has rapidly developed in recent years, and continues to grow, is looking to add to the team on an interim basis whilst the existing Fund Controller is seconded to a project. Initially the position is for 6 months but it may extend.

The Team

The team are hard-working and have fun. They are proactive and will suit you if you are keen to learn and have the motivation to make things happen. The team takes responsibility for the financial reporting and analysis and you will work closely with the current Fund Controller (Head of the team) to manage them.

The Position

This is a very varied role and will require the ability to manage a range of stakeholders and deliver to tight timelines. Many of the operations are outsourced in fund accounting and therefore, this role will be responsible for the quality of the Fund level financial information.-

The role comes with autonomy and requires you to deal with multiple work streams, the duties include:

• Review and challenge management accounts provided by the administrators
• Assisting on new fund raises and new investment transactions
• Prepare and present financial information at external Board Meetings
• Ensuring financial information is accurately presented in the Investor Reports
• Project manage fund level audits and review of statutory financial statements and corporation tax returns
• Overseeing distributions, NAV, Unit pricing and dividend cover calculations
• Assist with financial and tax due diligence work streams for new transactions
• Working with other members of the team to ensure all finance-related elements are considered and addressed ahead of deal close
• Assisting with the onboarding of assets once acquired

Business partnering will also be key and you will build and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

You will also be the point of escalation for the team, ensure a robust control environment and identify system improvements to drive change where needed.

Experience & Skills

To be selected for the role you will be a Qualified Accountant with experience in a Fund Accounting/Fund Controller position with good IFRS knowledge. You will have a background in fund accounting and fund structures and have held a role with oversight/management for a team.

You will be able to demonstrate your excellent communication skills and self-motivation and be able to work in a fast paced environment.
