As we continue our rapid growth and success, we have a need for a new permanent Associate Project Manager role within our New Product Development (NPD) function. This role will support the completion of product quality enhancement and new product launches within our areas of focus across life science research.

We are looking for a motivated and collaborative Associate Project Manager. This role will work very closely with our global teams, so effective cross–functional teamwork is a must. This role will be part of the Innovation Programme Management (IPM) team and report into a Senior Project Manager or Programme Manager. The IPM team sits within the Research and Development (R&D) group at Abcam.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone aiming to advance their career in project management while supporting the implementation of new processes across multiple teams to ultimately deliver the best products to our customers.

The job is based at our Cambridge (UK) site, but the job holder will work closely with multiple teams in our global locations.

* Job responsibilities *

* Perform day–today–day management of project to ensure execution is in line with time, cost and quality constraints
* Define and track project deliverables to ensure we deliver on our strategy and develop our high–quality product portfolio to meet our customers' needs
* Work collaboratively across assigned teams to manage project resources, deliverables and interdependencies
* Communicates changes in timeline or deliverables and works in partnership with Senior Project Manager or Programme Manager to resolve issues to get project back on track
* Aware of and actively contributes to KPIs and reporting frameworks to control project execution
* Proactively identifies and monitors risks and issues, ensuring mitigation plans are in place and escalates to senior stakeholders as appropriate
* Implement key reports and establish a communication plan to inform stakeholders of project progress on a regular basis
* Maintain project and resourcing plans
* Understand key financial principles and monitor key metrics to maximise return on investment
* Supports effective governance and decision making. Provides reporting and engaged in mechanisms that hold self and others to account for delivery
* Support regular project/programme team meetings (and in some cases chair meetings), providing minutes and documenting actions for key stakeholders

* About you *

Our ideal candidate will have >1 year experience in Project Management, preferably within the Life Science sector. Demonstrable practical experience of managing projects is essential. A background in antibody development or a life sciences qualification would be advantageous.

We are looking for someone astute, a natural planner, proactive, organised, personable and reliable. Someone that cares about the quality and impact of the work they deliver. You should be a team player, able to take responsibility and manage a project spanning multiple cultures and time–zones. Our ideal candidate will be comfortable working within a fast–paced, dynamic environment where effective communication is key.

Strong knowledge and experience using MS Office Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint would be advantageous.
