Control Systems Engineer – Pipelines
Tamworth (or Hemel Hempstead)
Salary DOE, plus allowances and bonus
Introduction???
Astute are looking for a Control Systems Engineer to work with a business to help operate and monitor some critical national infrastructure, pipelines and their broad portfolio of assets including the like of pumping stations, tank storage, terminal and rail loading facilities. Maintaining cyber security is also an essential part of this role.
Roles & Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Systems Manager, as a Control Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for:
The development, support and maintenance of the process control system for the pipeline operational systems (currently Allen Bradley PLC)
The modification of PLC programs as required and ensure back up files are maintained
Supporting, maintaining and troubleshooting the Local and Wide Are Networks on which the control systems are built
To help with the development of the new SCADA system to enhance operational performance
Supporting the Mechanical and Electrical Technicians to diagnose and repair faults
Data and trend analysis to spot potential issues before they happen
Participation in HAZID, HAZOP and DSEAR
Contribute to cyber security projects and initiatives
Undertaking PLC control and SCADA system maintenance
Other duties as required
Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
HNC in Engineering or a relevant engineering qualification
Excellent background in PLCs/Controls, with in–depth experience of PLC ladder logic
A demonstrable understanding of SCADA/DCS control systems
Someone who can read Network Architecture Diagrams
A full UK driving licence is essential
Experience using Allen Bradley PLCs is desired
Salary & Package
