The role

* Leading the parks and leisure service, you will make an immediate impact in providing innovative and new ways of engaging our community and showing the best of our civic pride. You will ensure that activities within parks and leisure facilities are impactful and support the councils priorities of providing inclusive services that are accessible to all residents of the borough.

* Develop strategies for the most efficient and effective delivery of services whilst working with residents.

* Lead on the procurement of contracts within services under your responsibility.

* Ensure services contribute to reducing social isolation and improving community cohesion.

* Ensure services contribute to improving the mental and physical health of residents.

* That services contribute to working towards reducing the climate change and ecological emergency

Key Skills and Experience:

* Experience in a senior role within Parks and Leisure services, in either the Public or Private Sector

* Complex problem–solving: The ability to work within a complex system and find simple solutions and outcomes that deliver real change.

* Critical thinking: The ability to challenge the norms through evidence–based approaches using both numerical and critical reasoning and thinking. You can rationalise decision–making and form views quickly and soundly from a range of sources
