We are looking for an excellent Client Technology Director for one of the UK's most respected customer experience digital agencies, which employs 300 staff, and works with some of the world's biggest brands including Selfridges, Adidas, BMW, Rolls Royce, Ford, The FA, Centrica and Bodyshop.

As a Client Technology Director, you will need to hold a deep understanding of multiple technologies, and be passionate about doing the right thing for the client and their needs.
You will be working as part of a cross–functional leadership team and as such, will be responsible for the delivery of quality experiences built on tailored technical solutions that are customer–centric, evolvable and based on best practices principles.

You will lead the vision and strategy of technology for your engagements, working with the technical leads to architect effective solutions and oversee cross–functional teams in the build and maintenance of those solutions.

Role Requirements:

Work as a strategic consultant and partner for the clients, setting their technology vision and strategy or optimising their current programmes of work. Build trust so that clients value your opinions and seek your advice on their business, technology, and brand issues.
Actively seek out potential new work and lead the technology response to all major briefs across a wide range of digital projects. Make recommendations on team shape based on the requirements, deadlines, and expected budget.
Collaborate with the other engagement leads to ensure commercial targets are met and take responsibility for the overall quality and delivery of the experiences your teams create.
Create technical solutions, proposals, designs, and specifications, identifying the right technologies to use, ensuring they are implementable and propose alternatives as necessary. Ensure all solutions are tested, scalable, security–compliant, optimised and documented with relevant coding standards and best practice maintained
Work across multiple programmes of work, empowering your teams to deliver effectively at speed while ensuring their health and happiness is a priority. Lead and manage your team effectively, recommending the correct make–up and balance of the technical team as engagements change.As part of the engineering community, you will:

Meet regularly with the wider engineering leadership team to define the direction of engineering within the business. You will work with members of the community and take ownership of initiatives that drive the business forward to achieve ultimate vision and goals.
Be a leader of people and teams, taking responsibility to manage the individual careers, health and happiness of your team, by working in collaboration with other directors and technology partner.
Support new business opportunities by working alongside the agency partner team to provide presales technical consultancy as part of workshops or pitch processes.
Take a leading role in the recruitment process for new hires across the entire engineering community, ensuring candidates align with company values, vision, and direction.
Contribute to business reputation and expertise in the marketplace, through thought leadership.Skills required

Experienced at working with clients at all levels of an organisation. Ability to communicate technical ideas effectively in a business context to technical and non–technical people
Exceptional leadership skills with the confidence and integrity to earn client and internal team's confidence and trust quickly
Significant people leadership experience, able to demonstrate experience coaching, developing and performance managing team members of all levels while empowering your direct reports to do the same
Experience of working in agencies or start–ups where there is an emphasis on building MVPs to deliver business value at speed. Also, any experience working in a corporate environment would be beneficial, ideally challenging their cultural norms helping the business to move quicker.
Innovative problem–solver with the ability to identify issues and deliver solutions quickly.
A demonstratable ability to use best–practice patterns and principles to build web–based solutions on a variety of technology stacks. A broad knowledge of the skills required to build quality customer–facing solutions with a background in one specialist area (e.g. front–end, back–end, cloud engineering or quality assurance).
Experience in at least one of the major cloud providers with an understanding of how to build solution that are highly available and observable.
Experience with rapid accelerated deliveries using lean and agile methodologies (SCRUM, Kanban) and creating a DevOps or DevSecOps culture to enable CI/CD practices.To discuss more about this role, please apply today.
