Platform Resourcing are working with an international logistics company who have multiple locations throughout the UK to find a Business Development Manager (focussing on road freight) to join their team. The candidate will be working remotely and can therefore be based anywhere in the U.K.

The ideal Business Development Manager will have a proven track record of business development or sales, generating business opportunities, account management and relationship building within the transport and logistics sector.

Benefits:

* Basic salary of up to GBP40,000 (negotiable depending on experience)

* UK wide role, remote working and can be based in any UK location.

* Full–Time Permanent Position

* Hours Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

* One stage interview – face to face

* 4% Pension

* 21 days holiday plus 8 stat (this increases by 1 day more every 3 years)

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Developing and maintaining a pipeline of potential business

* Utilisation of current contacts within the industry

* Researching client base to find new customers and build upon the current client base

* Developing new business opportunities

* Create contract opportunities

* New business forecasting

* Attending meetings and representing the business

* Cost negotiations

* Produce and present monthly sales and customer data

* Retaining client relationships ensuring maintained standards

* Support operational team in the mobilisation of new contracts

* Undertake client service reviews

* Ensuring client satisfaction and monitoring the service they receive to make sure it is up to standard and of a consistently high quality

* Encouraging client retention through excellent customer service

Essential Skills:

* MUST have experience within a Sales or Business Development role

* MUST have experience of working with transport/logistics environment

* Excellent communication with clients/ customers

* Self–driven to achieve targets

* Confident over the telephone

* Able to plan own day and prioritise workload

* Proven expertise in winning new contracts, increasing client base, and in turn increasing company profits
