Purpose of Role:

As a Programme Manager, with a Business Change Manager skill set, you will be reporting directly to the Project Board (Portfolio), who will be aware of all the possible interactions and interdependencies between all the different elements of the portfolio. The Programme Manager will ensure the objectives of the programme are met. You will operate under a matrix structure and report directly to the CEO. The Programme Manager is fully independent of the functional managers. The functional managers retail line management responsibility for their employees , but their responsibility for the project is controlled and reported by the Programme Manager. The successful delivery of Project deliverables whilst being responsible for the planning of required resources, financial budgeting and overall governance of these Projects.

Role and Responsibilities

The principle responsibilities of the Programme Manager is to ensure the objectives of the programme are met

Must ensure all project/critical development plans share a vision across the whole of the programme, so that all projects plans are fully aligned with the programme objectives. This includes input; output; mechanisms and constraints
Will bring order to projects and act as the link between individual projects and project board and the programme board and must ensure that all information flow both between project and projects boards and the Programme Board is timely and accurate
Must ensure all projects are progressing in line with the requirement of the programme and take appropriate action when required and will do so after action has been enacted
Initial planning of Project programmes including defining the Projects governance structure
Daily programme management and monitoring throughout the project programme life cycle. This includes Initiation processes; Planning Processes; Monitoring and Controlling Processes; and Closing Processes
Engagement of and regular liaison with key project stakeholders
Management and oversight of project, programme and financial risks including control measures and corrective action
Undertake regular meetings with functional managers, CEO and Project Board to assess project and programme progression against targeted expectations
Ensure departmental workflow, process and procedures are adhered to within each employee level hierarchy
To ensure departmental compliance with H&S legislation, BSI requirements and internal auditing
Undertake monthly reviews with Project Board and CEO to review successful delivery and financial targets and learning from those reviews
Periodically present current and future performance within the Projects Board including KPI evaluation, strategic direction and financial metrics

Reduce the risk of failure from poor investment decision making, scope creep, inadequate specification, overstated benefits and under costing Person Specification

Attributes

Education / Training

IOSH/NEBOSH Qualification

Prince 2, Agile, MSP, PMP or APM Qualification

Leadership L3/L5

Experience

Experience within the ventilation or construction industry

Direct experience of line management/Leadership

Proven ability to deliver multi aspect projects on time, within budget and to client's satisfaction (Quality)

Demonstratable ability to plan for successful outcomes within a project delivery model

Experience of planning work schedules for others and managing the ongoing workflow in line with a programme of works

Experience of working and delivering to project KPIs and drivers

Experience working within Project Management planning software such as MS Projects/Monday/Dynamics Service Automation
