Junior Systems Engineer
Would you like to work in a role where you can grow your own skill set within our Defence Information sector? We currently have a vacancy for a Junior Systems Engineer at our site in Christchurch.
As a Junior Systems Engineer, you will be providing support to a fully integrated command and control system. This role is a great opportunity to grow and develop your skill set within BAE systems, in house training will be provided.
This role will provide you with an exciting opportunity to gain exposure across systems & software programme covering many disciplines including design, development, installation, implementation, integration, acceptance, training and logistics support.
Your main responsibilities as a Junior Systems Engineer will involve:
Classified asset management
Security musters
Auditing of hardware across all sites
Reporting setting to work tasks to hardware
Training will be provided in order to configure rack mounted IT equipment
Your skills and qualifications:
Essential skills
Hold a STEM based qualification at A Level or equivalent and demonstrate an interest in infrastructure/network engineering
An ability to diagnose issues, by providing practical, imaginative and thorough solutions to a wide range of problems
Desirable skills
Although in–house training will be provided, the candidate should have a general interest or a willingness to learn the following:
Infrastructure/Network Security
TCP/IP
Equipment configuration and setting to work.
Asset management
Hardware configuration processes

You will be a strong and adaptable team player that is aware of their own performance and always seeking to improve, learn and apply new skills. You will also be able to demonstrate a commitment to quality and maintaining personal high standards to ensure quality is an integral part of what you do. You will also have strong communication skills both written and verbal for documentation and stakeholder/team interaction.

Salary: GBP25,000
