Job Description:
Our client designs next–generation satellite communication systems based on in–house developed chipsets. With locations across The US and Europe, they develop a line of satellite communication modems with Software Defined Radio and Electronically Steered Multi Beam Antennas to support the most advanced standards.
Their products radically increase system performance and reduce the weight and power requirements of terminals, payloads and gateway equipment. With satellite communication expertise and full development capabilities, the company delivers the industry's smallest VSATs and multi–beam electronically steered antenna arrays for a variety of mobile applications and services.
We are looking for a Systems Engineer to lead the system activities on satellite and payload technologies. You will work closely with the engineering team to deliver a regenerative payload coupled to electronically steerable multibeam antennas.
Responsibilities
Generate payload and sub–system level requirements, specifications and definitions.
Perform payload design analysis
Analyse system level performance requirements to allocated subsystems/components requirement.
Enable technology maturation and risk reduction plans for critical payload elements and satellite subsystems.
Support business development and proposal activities for multiple payload programs and customers.
Conduct specification trade–off negotiations with customers and engineers.
Responsible for the design to meet the specifications and where there are discrepancies negotiate and resolve them with customers.
Requirements:
Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Master's degree preferred.
Proven ability to develop and analyse technical requirements and functions down to subsystems and hardware/software focusing on Satellite technology.
Ability to write proposals to RFIs, including developing presentations to describe the technical approach in a clear manner.
10+ years of experience with satellite communications technologies, beneficial to understand technologies such as; phased array antennas and digital processing.
Extensive end–to–end satellite communications payload design experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with customers, management, and peers.
