A Senior Systems Engineer is required to work on a six month contract, with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Glasgow although working at home during Covid.

This is a contract within the Naval Industry.

Carry out Functional Modelling and Analysis on complex Marine Systems.
Carry out relatively complex technical analyses and investigations, including evaluation and selection of technical options, and prepare reports with suggested recommendations to support the resolution of problems and the improvement of engineering capability.
Prepare specifications, develop systems or systems of systems that enhance or improve overall engineering performance.
Carry out investigations into operational problems or developments and develop and prepare solutions.
Act as the main point of contact with customers and/or suppliers in assigned areas on engineering matters, to resolve relatively complex problems and issues and to maintain awareness in both parties of priorities and objectives.
Provide help and direction to less experienced team members to support both their effective working and their development.
Manage assigned budgets and lead, develop and motivate assigned employees to ensure they are aware of and capable of delivering their accountabilities.
Make engineering decisions within own sphere of responsibility and delegated authority.Experiential requirements

Typically degree qualified, likely to be in engineering or other related discipline.
Experience in Functional Modelling
Experience in Fault Tree Analysis
Meet the requirements for registration as Incorporated Engineer with the Engineering Council and preferably be a member of a relevant Professional Body.
5 Years' experience in engineering or a defence related industry.
Good working experiences in more than one phase of the LCM, with sufficient experience of the total LCM to enable a good understanding of adjacent phases and through life engineering issues.
Experience of liaising with external stakeholders.
Possesses in–depth knowledge of most aspects within current discipline.
Ability to coach, mentor & assist others in systems engineering Tasks.
Good people management skills and experienced in a multi–disciplined engineering environment.The role is based in Glasgow – Commutable from Kilmarnock, Paisley, Greenock, Stirling and Falkirk with excellent access from Edinburgh
