About the Company

Our client, a leading independent distribution company are looking for an experienced Group Operations Director for their International Freight Forwarding division. You will take ownership of key projects within the business and drive sustainable improvements into the operation. It will be your responsibility to drive the business to maximise the performance of the division.

Group Operations Director – The Rewards

Salary up to GBP80,000
Car, equity Group Operations Director – Requirements

Experienced in a multisite, multi customer freight forwarding operations
Experience of managing and delivering change
Commercial acumen and customer interaction
A thorough understanding of international freight forwarding solutions across Airfreight, Ocean freight and European Road freight with a proven track record of managing a multisite P&L operation
Ability to understand granular detail at an operational and financial level and use this to drive bigger picture financial improvements on a consistent basis
Able to work well under pressure
Proven track record in multiple P&L Management
Experienced People Leader
Good knowledge of Health and Safety Group Operations Director – Responsibilities

Lead the day to day operations of 6 UK offices
Work with the international management team to assist with the growth of the UK business
Drive sales and onboard new clients to the business
Manage suppliers across all modes of freight
Recruit, train and retain talent in the business
Drive cross selling opportunities across the group About Us
