Job Title: Net Zero Business Development Manager

Business Area: Lucy Electric

Location: Nation Wide. Head office in Thame, Oxfordshire

Job Purpose

The Net Zero Business Development Manager is the "green eyes and ears" of the company responsible for building install base market position by locating, developing, defining and where appropriate negotiating, and closing business relationships. To develop and execute plans on a national basis which result in a pipeline of profitable business in the short, medium and long term which is consistent with the 5 year Lucy Electric plan in relation to Products, Services and Solutions.

Job Context

As part of the strategic medium term plan Lucy Electric needs to ensure it is correctly positioned to maximise business opportunities and growth on the development of the national and global drive for a net zero future. This role will be the focal point for Lucy Electric UKs net zero business.

Job Dimensions

The role will be field/home based with regular visits to Lucy Electric offices in Thame and of course to our customers and prospects nationally.

Key Accountabilities

These will include:

Business Development

Formulate and Follow dedicated & focused Business Plans for new Markets/Market segments and Develop & Execute these in line with the (5) year strategic plan
Develop new routes to market, introducing Lucy Electric products to new end–users, installers and specifiers. Responsible for the success for performance and development of the new and potential customers.
Prepares action plans by individuals as well as by team for effective search of sales leads and prospects and follow up the same with the RSM
Propose and establish new partnering, licensing and joint venture agreements for Lucy Electric products, services or solutions.
Conducts a review with all internal teams to build more effective communications, to understand training and development needs with the focus to productivity and effectiveness, and to provide insight for the improvement of company's sales and activity performance via sales intelligence to enter new markets and/or to acquire new customers.
Provides timely feedback to senior management regarding performances of business Development & Marketing activities/status with business feasibility, overview, and projection.
Provides support to all functions when requested by management.Marketing

Support the UK Sales Team in developing and deploying Net Zero focused marketing strategies to achieve sales and marketing plans identified through research.
Actively contribute as the UK point of contact to the development plans for new products & solutions with the Global Marketing Team.
Liaise with BEAMA, Government Departments such as BEIS, and other sector focused agencies such as the Energy catapult to understand how Lucy Electric can maximise the business opportunity presented by the UK government's drive to achieve Net Zero.
Understand what funding opportunities for innovation are available and where to focus business development resources.
Work with the UK DNO Account Managers, as well as the DNOs themselves and OFGEM to understand what Net Zero opportunities RIIO–ED2 presents to Lucy Electric, and then develop a focused strategy and plan which will lead to business growth.
Support the UK marketing function by developing and implementing sector specific marcomms strategies.
Build the UK Net Zero marcomm plans in line with strategy and objective and ensure that Lucy Electric Products are effectively supported within agreed budget.
To Ensure Along with the regional Marketing team that the Lucy Electric Global Marketing guide lines are implemented.
Assists in the development and implementation of solution and proposal marketing plans as needed.
Create and maintain, competitor profiles and how this impact customer relationships.Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited university, Master Degree a plus.
Minimum 5 years experience in electrical services sales and marketing
High level of English (spoken and written).
Team player, results–focused, determined, and responsible.
Good people management skills and good customer handling skills.
Computer literacy.
Strategic thinking, enthusiastic, able to work under pressure, initiative and strong analytical skill.
Strong negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills.
