Job Purpose
To be a trusted advisor providing financial insights and advice to Business Leaders on actions and decisions to ensure business goals are met.
Role & Responsibilities
- Finance business partnering with Business Unit and Service Line Leaders
- Preparation and presentation of regular budgets and forecasts to reflect business strategy and plans
- Reporting of financial performance, trends and anomalies
- Prepare clear, concise and accurate management information
- Analysis and interpretation of business performance in order to assist Business Leaders take informed decisions to improve financial performance
- Being proactive in finding solutions to drive actions which address identified issues
- Communication with and training of Business Units to ensure understanding of business processes and requirements
- Ensuring compliance with income recognition and realisation policies and processes
- Liaison with other Business Service teams to ensure development and integration of all processes and knowledge sharing
- Develop and improve reporting to make it as accessible and useful as possible. e.g. including Power BI dashboards.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Up to date technical knowledge of UK GAAP / FRS102 and IFRS.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Actively seeks to enhance expertise and knowledge.
- Ability to identify issues through sound analysis and application of commercial acumen in all situations
- Hold a recognised accounting qualification (ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA)
- Strong analytical skills with experience in maintaining the integrity of excel data models
- Excellent excel skills
- Experience of Power BI (preferable)
- Proven track record of presenting financial performance and analysis with clarity and confidence
- Previous experience or understanding of the professional services business model
- Strong communication and influencing skills with an ability to build good relations across the organisation
- Good time management skills and experience of working to tight deadlines
- Flexible and adaptable to changing requirements of the role & the business during the year.
