Your new company
I'm recruiting a Head of Software Development for the leading Facilities and Workplace Management business in the UK. At a time when peoples relationship with their workplace has never been more relevant it's an exciting time to be joining, to help shape the future world of work in a sustainable, environmentally friendly way looking at smart buildings with a focus on data.

You'll be working from their head office location in Surbiton with the opportunity to work 2-3 days from home per week. It is therefore important that you are within 1 hour of Surrey.

Your new role
This is a hybrid position, split between ownership over product direction & core management responsibilities for a tech team of 8 (1 Lead, 2 Senior, 3 Developers and 2 QA's) You'll report into the Head of Business Systems and will be a part of the executive leadership team for the business who are all based in Surbiton.

The business has undergone a period of change recently including a complete rebrand and a rewrite of core values. The tech team has new buy-in to grow headcount, but also to modernise and invest in their systems. You'll champion this expansion and help deliver the software roadmaps.

What you'll need to succeed
The team currently works with both C# and Java for projects, so it's important to have a background and comprehensive knowledge of one of these technology stacks.

At a leadership level we are not concerned with granular knowledge of specific tools/frameworks, more someone agnostic who has moved across a number of technologies in their career.

You must have managed a Development team for 3+ years and will have ideally interacted at board level with key stakeholders. You will create and introduce a continuous improvement plan to help the team progress and will ensure they subscribe to software best practice including Agile/Scrum, DevOps, CI/CD. And SOLID.
