We are IT Recruitment Specialists partnered with a prestigious Global Consultancy who require an External Communications Director one of their Public sector Clients based in Remote.

Title: External Communications Director

Job Description:

The role:

Devising and executing the comprehensive external communications plan that influences and improves public perception and behaviours

Influencing and shaping what external communications go into the public domain through strong personal impact.

A trusted advisor who can be called upon and relied on by senior officials and ministers of state.

Executing effectively through a number of comms channels including Other Government Departments, Local Councils and senior internal and external stakeholders.

Criteria:

Experience of working in Government, with preference to Whitehall.

Engaging stakeholders and how to work and influence within the civil service through the ministry structure and special advisors.

Understanding of UK local council structure and how to successfully leverage central and local communications.

Designing and delivering communication and marketing campaigns against robust Return on Investment criteria.

Extensive experience of external Public Communications, reputation management and crisis response.

Public affairs and lobbying.
