Our client are a leading provider of insurance products and dealer warranties to vehicle manufacturers and retailers of all types and sizes throughout the UK, Europe and globally.

Due to a major business re–alignment journey, both in a technology and product sense, they seek a technology–driven and enabled CTO or CIO to drive this highly important initiative.

The purpose of the role is to create and own the technological roadmap for the newly formed group which consists of a number of smaller organisations each bringing special industry, technical and data competencies that gives us a broad portfolio of product offerings. The global estate includes insurance broker, FCA compliance business, mobile car repair business, b2c ecommerce marketplace, car dealership finance and insurance POS platform

The objective is to create an all–encompassing technology and data strategy that can synergise their unique capabilities to elevate them into a position of strength in the market that will ultimately result in them offering its customers better solutions and products. The tech estate includes all typical sub–functions like infrastructure, operations, security and development within an agile environment. Key metrics will revolve around four S's, Security, Stability, Scalability and Speed to market with the CTO expecting to report on these metrics at an agreed cadence.

Key responsibilities:

??Leading the tech organization whilst maintaining the right team, right size, and right skills

??Working with the current IT leadership team to create and own the future architectural transformation strategy, and executing that strategy whilst ensuring the current environment delivers BAU

??To ensure their technology strategy and roadmap delivers now/next/future solutions in a rapidly changing and competitive landscape where their clients and their customers are changing their requirements

??To build an environment which enables, dynamic underwriting and product design, 'lite/zero touch' client onboarding, frictionless API first integrations, network effect platform evolution, self–serve data analytics and fully scalable and secure infrastructure. In summary covering;

Replacing front of house SaaS platform

Replacing back office, underwriting and workflow systems and infrastructure

Building data lake, data analytics, self–serve reporting tools and CRM

Data and system security

??To provide mentoring, guidance and constructive challenge to the current IT leadership team, including communication with all areas of APG

??To assess and fill APG's IT talent and capacity gaps

??To ensure 3rd party suppliers are fit for purpose and provide best value

??Ensure project delivery rigour in line with budget and timeline expectations

??Regardless of round–the–clock projects and BAU, create some space for innovation to enrich and motivate staff

??Co–owner of BC & DR in association with the COO
