Proven senior manager required with operational leadership experience and a track record of delivering mechanical & electrical installation services to the UK retail sector.
The Position:
With operational responsibility for M&E installation delivery to supermarkets and retail multiples, the appointed Head of Operations will assume responsibility for:
* Managing a team of contracts managers and site installation staff to predefined KPI targets
* Delivering M&E installs for retail real estate, with a focus on minimising running costs and energy consumption
* Ensuring that works are carried out within agreed timescales, to predetermined budgets and with minimal disruption to stores and their customers
* Tender/bid writing, strategic business planning, budget management, key stakeholder engagement and relationship management
* Working to the highest standards of Health and Safety, ensuring that hazardous works within live environments are carried out safely, away from customers and staff and with minimal disruption
* Ensuring that all equipment required meets the correct standards, is the correct specification and is installed by appropriate, qualified electricians
* Ongoing technical support, inspection, testing and maintenance services for all portable and fixed appliances
* Working closely with construction and projects teams to facilitate and implement new technology such as digital browsers, digital POS and displays
The Candidate:
Applicants will be expected to demonstrate:
* A minimum of ten years' experience in the delivery of M&E installation contracts to the UK retail sector
* A minimum bachelor's degree (and ideally PRINCE2 project management) qualification
* Experience of contract management, front line operational delivery, team management, strategic planning, procurement and project delivery
* Effective written and verbal communication skills and an interpersonal style appropriate to a wide range of stakeholders, from operatives to senior board level
* A thorough understanding of financial management and complex funding streams
* A track record of successfully developing and leading teams to achieve goals and surpass targets
