A collegiate University is looking for their new Head of Income to come join their team on an interim basis, since having gone through a transformation period. Someone with strong interpersonal skills, who has managed impressive teams and has robust technical ability, would be perfect for this role.

Client Details

This worldwide highly rated University, based in central London, has just implemented a new system relating to their income, which has rejuvenated the outlook of the department. They are looking for a fresh set of eyes to come in to develop a number of areas in finance after having a period of uncertainty and transformation. There is a strong team of 8 that will need an knowledgeable leader to guide them through the embedding of those changes.

Description
  • To drive a strong customer orientated approach in collecting income and developing and embedding best practices within Income Services.
  • Oversee, mentor and lead the Income Services team, seeking to improve the service by providing training and guidance wherever necessary.
  • Co- ordinate and manage the development of policies to support the administration and collection of income. This is including but limited to, funding council grants, tuition fees, commercial income, accommodation fees and research grants.
  • Develop strong income management procedures, for the identification, recording and reporting of income, which can be utilised for the entire University.
  • Be responsible for the University based networks.
  • Support the strategic development of the Finance Department, by being an effective member of the Finance Departments leadership team.
  • To ensure the accuracy, quality and timeliness of information, and ensuring systems and processes are suitable for purpose.
  • Undertake health and safety duties and responsibilities appropriate to the role.

Profile
  • You will need to be a fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CCAB) with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • You have strong interpersonal skills to manage difficult customer relationships with a positive and accommodating attitude.
  • You will have managed notable teams of 6+, being able to effectively prioritise, lead and mentor.
  • You will have worked with large data sets where you have managed incomes of £200million+
  • Although having worked in the University sector would be beneficial, it is not required.
  • To have been a Financial Controller previously is beneficial but not required.
