The Role:

As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for leading the day to day accounting function, including bank accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cost accounting and inventory accounting. Along with management of the team, you'll be integral to the budgeting and forecasting process by working closely with the Finance Director to provide timely and accurate management information.

In time, this role can also develop to incorporate more overtly commercial activity for the wider business and would be suited to someone who is looking to continually drive efficiency and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the finance department ensuring the ledgers and records are maintained according to business and legal requirements.
Prepare and manage weekly cash flow forecast.
Produce key reports: daily report, turnover and credit control.
Prepare financial and management reports (management accounts and balance sheet).
Maintain the Sage 200 system closing and opening periods/financial year ensuring all reporting is kept for HMRC compliance.
Maintain management and financial reports (fixed asset register and balance sheet reconciliations).
Responsible for processing purchase ledger invoices for key paper suppliers and statement reconciliations.
Assist managers with reporting, improving processes and projects.
Maintain and strengthen all internal controls.
Preparation of the budget and financial forecast, and the reporting of variances.
Manage the audit process and liaise with external auditors. Key Experience:

You will ideally:

Be ACA/ACCA/CIMA/Qualified by Experience or Part Qualified.
Be familiar with working within a small–to–medium enterprise.
Be a team player with strong leadership and communication skills.
Be a problem identifier and solution provider.
Have experience of Sage systems.
Have experience of managing direct reports.
Be a confident communicator both up and down the chain of command.Package:
