Associate Director R&D Chemistry

My client is a contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO) known for its work in custom chemical development, advanced intermediates, and active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) manufacturing. They specialise in manufacturing cGMP API and Advanced Intermediates via Advance Synthesis, Continuous Flow Processing and High Containment. This position is based at the R&D Centre in Dublin and offers a competitive rate plus benefits. The successful candidate will report to the Research & Development Director, and will be the overall lead for the transfer, development, and troubleshooting of chemical processes on site.
Key responsibilities:
–Providing leadership and technical expertise for all aspects of new and existing chemical processes development
–Liaising with other departments on site to ensure efficient and robust chemical processes are executed on site
–Seeking opportunities to continually drive performance
–Liaising with Marketing group and customers on a regular basis to ensure seamless projects execution
–Helping continuous innovation, including second generation chemistry, innovative chemistry and promoting industry best practice internally
–Process troubleshooting and optimisation for small molecules APIs and intermediates
–Authoring technical reports
–Leading/supporting Continuous Improvements activities
Requirements:
–PhD in Synthetic Organic Chemistry
–Experience in API process development and/or technical manufacturing support role
–In depth knowledge of organic chemistry and chemical synthetic route development
–Experience in defending processes, procedures and investigations during FDA/EMA/HA inspections
–Experience leading and managing team
