If you are an experienced research and development leader with extensive knowledge of innovation, continuous improvement, and great people skills – you belong at Bromford.

As the Head of Research and Development, you'll develop and lead a best in sector research and development service, with a team of research, insight, analyst, design, and innovation specialists.

In this role, you will help make engagement with Research and Development as easy as possible and ensure that continuous improvement and innovation activity across Bromford is highly visible to all.

You'll take responsibility for being a face of Research and Development across the business, raising the profile and importance of problem definition and business capability. You will align the research and development resources and capability with the right problems to maximise the impact of the service on the delivery of our current strategy and the development of the next.

You will ensure the service equips colleagues with simple tools to solve problems, innovate and continuously improve in a 'no regret' way. You will also ensure that the service enables our Leadership 50 cohort to focus on the more complex problems that require cross–team collaboration. You'll work with the Executive to identify the problems that need more research and development work as part of our future strategy planning.

In this role you will contribute to the design of tests, pilots, and proofs of concept as part of exploration; ensuring the service maintains and develops a leading–edge range of skills and expertise to meet the business' needs; nurturing a diverse network of relationships inside and outside Bromford, and utilising them to connect with leaders, collaborate and inform our work.

You'll be a member of the senior leadership team, working collaboratively with your peers to ensure targets are met and our strategy is achieved. We want you to role model our DNA, mentoring, nurturing and developing colleagues, and providing opportunities for them to be the best they can be while getting the recognition they deserve.

By joining us, you'll play a vital role in helping us provide safe, secure and warm housing to over 100,000 people. But working with us is about so much more than putting a roof over someone's head. It's about building trust, building relationships and enabling all kinds of people to achieve more, chase their ambitions and build a brighter future for themselves.

This is a roaming role and as such can be based from any of our main offices in Wolverhampton (WV10), Tewkesbury (GL20) or Chipping Sodbury (BS37) and will involve extensive travel across our geography, so you must hold a full, clean driving licence.

As Head of Research and Development, you will bring:
