Their core purpose is to promote and advance learning; with a particular emphasis on supporting social mobility and prosperity, via the design, development and certification of diverse, nationally recognised qualifications and awards, which have contributed to the success of millions of learners at all levels, bringing them closer to fulfilling their personal goals.
They are currently looking to appoint a highly talented Technology Leader for a 12–month interim contract, who will be responsible for defining and implementing the technology strategy and future system and platform architecture. You will provide functional oversight and inspirational leadership to a sizable technology community including external third–party suppliers and partners, alongside broad internal stakeholder collaboration in pursuit of the overarching transformation programme.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
* Accountable for leading and owning the digital elements of wider business transformation, to implement and deliver a technology strategy.
* Accountable for leading the digital/IT teams (internal and external) ensuring high level of performance and delivery against the business needs.
* Accountable for leading the development and implementation of the technical roadmap, gaining support and commitment from stakeholders across the business, ensuring existing and new systems are aligned to the strategic objectives.
* Accountable for the technical implementation of outsourcing services to specialist third parties to minimise risk, increase capacity and improve services.
* Accountable for the technical due diligence on procurement of new IT platforms, services and/or potential company acquisitions, presenting findings with recommendations to the Executive Team.
* Accountable for defining and managing the IT investment budget required to deliver against the tech strategy and roadmap.
* Accountable for leading architecture decisions through the Technical Design Authority to ensure strong, stable, and scalable platforms with our current and future tech stack.
* Accountable for leading architecture decisions through the Business Design Authority to digitally redefine and transform end–to–end processes across complex business functions.
* Accountable for commissioning PMO support, to ensure delivery of IT solutions and services.
The Person:
* Candidates should be educated to degree level or equivalent
* Possess extensive leadership experience in delivering sizable digital technology transformation in a complex organisation environment.
* You will be an inspiring leader, comfortable managing diverse technology functions including third party partnership interactions with a passion and deep understanding of progressive development methodologies such as Agile and DevOps.
* Specific experience in complex technical design oversight including enterprise and solutions architecture would be required, with cloud platform, .NET, ASP.NET, Web Services, SSIS and API technologies highly desirable.
