The Franciscan Missionaries of the Divine Motherhood (FMDM) are offering an exciting and rewarding opportunity to be at the heart of launching our new Franciscan Centre at Ladywell, Godalming, including the building of its strategic direction for the future. It will require a capacity, in partnership with others, to be creative and innovative, manage, lead, and support substantial change. Relationship building and bringing people together on the journey will be key to what success looks like in this role.

As the Director you will ensure that the Franciscan charism, and spirit of the FMDM sisters, remains at the heart of this new venture; while delivering its mission through the programmes it delivers and how our visitors experience the Centre.

Vision:  To create a space for an experience and understanding of Franciscan wisdom and spirituality for the world.
Mission: To participate in making available the Beauty, Generosity and Goodness of God by:
Being a place of welcome and hospitality.
Providing contemplative spaces for rest, silence, solitude, reflection, and prayer.
Developing Ladywell as a Centre for Franciscan Spirituality.
Keeping alive the FMDM heritage and story.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

To be open, and willing, to engage with Franciscan Theology and Spirituality. 
Experience in running a Centre delivering programs, conferences, and retreats.
To demonstrate excellence in leading and managing people and building relationships with stakeholders from a diverse and varied backgrounds.
To have well–developed conceptual, analytical, and decision–making skills, while being able to implement short, medium, and long–term strategies.
Outstanding organisational and marketing and networking skills.
To have an inclusive leadership style, with the ability to build and create relationships.
Excellent attention to detail.
A proven record of accomplishment in change management, ideally from working within the voluntary / not–for–profit/faith or charity sector.
Demonstrated competence and experience in writing Business Plans.
