This engineering construction company that operates throughout the UK on major road, rail, and airport infrastructure projects for public and private sector clients. They provide their clients with integrated infrastructure solutions that meet business needs. They provide a wide range of specialist contracting services to support the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects throughout the UK.
This business is looking for a Head of HR with EDI specialism and your role will be to support business needs, working alongside senior leaders to enable you to drive the strategic growth to help them achieve their business vision.
Experience and Qualifications required as follows:
* CIPD Qualified or equivalent
* Able to demonstrate a strong background in EDI, with proven results is critical for this role
* Previous experience of managing a team within a HR department
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* Strong knowledge and understanding of Employment Law
* Experienced in producing strategies/policy documents
* Highly organised with good project management and strategic planning abilities
* Passionate and confident
* Good IT skills
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
* Great leadership skills
* Highly enthusiastic and driven for success
* Ability to multitask and deal with a range of incoming enquiries
Duties and Responsibilities
* Provide advice and support on employee relation issues, including disciplinary, grievance, attendance, TUPE etc
* Lead, develop and implement a new and clear EDI strategy
* Make change happen by negotiating and implementing new policy/initiatives with a strange of stakeholders
* Regularly review and update HR policies and procedures, ensuring they are in line with current legislation
* Work alongside Managers to improve processes such as new starters, onboarding and leaver documents, employee records, diversity reporting, competitor benchmarking etc
* Build strong and trusted relationships with all stakeholders
* Give guidance and coaching to management teams and encourage managers to make effective people decisions
* Ensure performance management processes are in place and operating effectively
* Have an input in quality submissions for bids/tenders
* Managing benefits administration including healthcare, pensions and sharing payroll data with finance
* Complete relevant documentation in line with regulatory and awarding bodies
* Assist with the recruitment and selection process
* Nurture a positive working environment
