About the charity

Northorpe Hall Child & Family Trust is an independent charity delivering services focused on children and young people’s mental health and emotional wellbeing. The Trust works to improve the lives of young people up to 25 years old, particularly disadvantaged young people in need of support. We operate a range of services including counselling, group activities and mentoring, building positive relationships with young people and bringing them together in mutually supportive networks.

We respond to young people’s needs, helping them to build their own healthy internal world. This means they are able to feel happy and sad, to have strong relationships with family and friends, to enjoy and achieve, to feel compassion and empathy, to love, to play, to imagine and create, to face realities, make decisions and be able to talk about their own and other people’s feelings.

We believe that confident and happy young people contribute to the social, cultural and economic aspects of their communities. Our interventions encourage them to enjoy their lives and reach their full potential, helping them to become more resilient and confident in dealing with conflicts and setbacks.

Who we are looking for

The new Chief Executive will be leading an organisation that has strong values and a clear sense of purpose. We have grown rapidly in recent years and are looking for someone who can consolidate the progress we have made and will also drive the organisation forward into the next phase of our development.

We are looking for an inspiring, enthusiastic and people–focused leader with exceptional interpersonal communication skills and a proven track record of success in a social care or community–focused organisation. The Trust has recently developed a vision document with key stakeholders, setting out the organisation’s direction and development priorities. You will build on this vision to shape organisation plans, develop partnerships and manage activities.

You will share the Trust’s values and be passionate about improving the lives of disadvantaged people, both directly and through social change. You will be emotionally intelligent and able to motivate and support our committed staff team and volunteers to provide the highest quality services for young people – ensuring that our values are championed in all practice.

With strong financial acumen and data analytics capabilities, you will have a proven ability to drive efficiency and performance to ensure the charity makes sound judgements and the best use of available resources. You will introduce innovative ideas and work with the Leadership Team to secure existing funding and services as well as pursue and develop new income sources and service areas.

You will be a compelling advocate for Northorpe Hall Child & Family Trust and the families and young people we work with. You will also be adept at liaising with external organisations, funders, commissioners and service providers and at developing lasting relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in a thriving and ambitious charity, shaping the experience for young people, families, paid workers, volunteers, funders and partner organisations.

Northorpe Hall Child & Family Trust is is an equal opportunities employer and we are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We celebrate inclusivity and applications are actively encouraged from people from diverse backgrounds.
