We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Channel Marketing & Business Development Manager to develop and lead the commercial business development strategy that will underpin the growth of our Express Asphalt business nationally. In this brand new role, you will build on our market leading position and return greater levels of profit by expanding our offering, our channels to market and overall service to customers.

About the role

Reporting to the General Manager for Express Asphalt you will utilise your strong commercial acumen and track record of delivering growth to develop our commercial strategy across our asphalt product portfolio, retail and e–commerce whilst improving our customer experience.

Key elements to the role include:

Leading and developing our business development commercial sales strategy, which includes developing our full scale marketing approach (incl. social media), broadening our channels to market to increase our sales / market share and step change the convenience and overall experience for our customers.

Leading our new product development, ensuring product launches, marketing collateral and training is effective.

*

Managing our product ranges in shops, including point of sale material, pricing, supply chain and sales training.

*

Establishing relationships with key customers and identifying opportunities to enhance our service and product offering, whilst also increasing our sales and margin.

*

Tracking our competitor activity to ensure we always remain ahead of our competitors

*

Managing our annual customer survey, advising on strategy based on findings.

*

Identifying expansion opportunities and supporting the GM with business cases.

This is a home–based position with a national remit, with the expectation that you will travel regularly between sites across England (stretching from Huddersfield to Exeter) and into Southwest Wales to keep connected with the business and customers.

What will you bring?

*

Previous experience operating at a similar level, in a comparable industry environment preferred (although not entirely essential)

*

Experience of developing and delivering an E–Commerce sales strategy

*

Ability to demonstrate proven sales growth via multiple sales channels.

*

Strong academic qualifications with IT skills, as well as digitally savvy

*

Intuitive and adaptable, able to build strong relationship quickly with customers, sales professionals and colleagues across all levels

*

Ability to inspire and engage colleagues to make it happen

*

Demonstrable sales business development experience

*

Able to travel and flexibility to cover a national remit
