An opportunity has arisen for an Interim Assistant Director of People, within a London NHS Trust. This is a key leadership role in the People & OD Directorate, leading for the Chief People Officer in the development and delivery of the Trust's People Strategy, through direct professional leadership and management.
Main responsibilities will include:
To lead, as directed by the Chief People Officer, on the development of HR strategy, and implementing supporting strategic HR projects and initiatives which have an impact across the Trust;
Support on the implementation of the Trust's procedures and guidance to promote best practice and safeguard the risks of non–compliance with employment legislation and safeguarding requirements;
To be an ambassador for the Trust workforce services, by networking and promoting the services externally to share good practice, as well as developing and exploring partnership and other resource sharing opportunities;
Lead the development of HR policies to ensure that they are coherent with the Trust's aims, objectives and values and employment legislation;
Manage and oversee any changes in budgets for the Staff Experience, Workforce information and ERS teams;
Manage the ER legal expenditure budget monitoring expenditure and suggesting strategies for control or reduction;
Deputise for the Chief People Officer on budgetary management in their absence or as directed;
Understand the Trust's key priorities and goals and those of their sites/division, Directorates and Service Lines and are able to translate these into key workforce priorities, plans and interventions.
Essential Skills/Experience:
An in–depth understanding of health care provision and awareness of current NHS policies and priorities;
Experience of leading, coaching and building capability in all aspects of the HR function;
Extensive experience working as a Senior HR Professional with specific experience in Staff Experience, reward and recognition, equality, diversity and inclusion.
