Technical Business Analyst

Location – Birmingham
Salary – 45k–50k plus excellent benefits

Technical Business analyst, Business analysis, Data Mapping, SQL, Agile, API Integrations

The Business Analyst will work with the business and IT to analyse their requirements and design solutions for IT Systems and Architecture. Working with the senior IT management you will analyse and document demand from the business, third parties and IT to ensure that the software development teams have everything they need to deliver their projects. The Business Analyst will act as the main point of contact for technical queries from the business (e.g. data mapping requests).

Core skills& experience

Solid experience of analysing and documenting complex systems and API integrations.
Experience of working in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) software delivery teams using Azure DevOps, VSTS or JIRA.
Excellent SQL & database design knowledge.
Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
Core responsibilities for this Technical BA role;

Work with internal and external stakeholders at all levels to analyse both functional and non–functional requirements.
Work with Scrum Masters and Product Owners to agree a deliverable solution.
Create technical documentation or user stories for the development teams to a standard that allows them to enhance existing/create new applications or system integrations.
Work directly with systems and databases to understand how they work without the need to involve developers.
Find pragmatic solutions to requirements that align to existing functionality/architecture where possible.
Build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the business.
Run workshops to investigate user requirements, agree solutions and produce good quality output.
Ensure that developers have all the information they need in a timely manner so that projects can be delivered to timescales.
Assist and mentor other analysts as required.
The successful business Analyst will have a good understanding of software design and principles and ideally worked as a Software developer earlier in their career. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills both technical and non–technical with the ability to investigate and logically problem solve.
