Location: Home–Based (occasional visits to Luton Head Office)
Working Hours: 3 Days Per Week (24hrs). Position open to Flexible Working Hours
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Direct Reports: None
Package: Basic Salary up to GBP50,000

Purpose of the Role
The Head of Legal – Commercial is responsible for providing guidance on corporate governance, negotiating, and drafting contracts, risk management, and the development of plans and policies.
Note: This role will not be required to deal with employee related matters as these are dealt with by a dedicated HR Employment Case Management partner.
Key Responsibilities
The Head of Legal is responsible for managing all legal affairs related to the structure of the organisation, its commercial contracts, legislative requirements and commercial law compliance.
The Head of Legal acts as the sole contact within the organisation for all legal matters and is expected to build strong and amicable relationships with senior managers, internal departments, clients, and external legal counsel (where appointed).
The Head of Legal responsibilities include:
Provide legal advice to the business and its leaders.
Identifying and mitigating legal risks
Helping to draft, review and negotiate supplier and client contracts.
Conducting legal training for staff
Advising on the legal implications of company policies and procedures
Ensuring all contracts, legal documents and templates are up–to–date and compliant with statutorylaws.
Reporting on legal activities, risks, and litigation.To meet the Head of Legal job description, a professional should have a law degree and have a minimum of five years' experience in handling Contract Law matters. They should have a current and valid position on the UK Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Register
