This role sits within our Meal Solutions division, where we live by our mantra of 'Making Every Meal Moment Special'. We have 4 sites creating over 500 different products to feed our nation???we love our food and we love our people.

Our Carlisle site has up to 1,500 employees, spanning over 3 factories across 2 sites. The site produces around 90 million meals annually with 150 products made daily over a 7 day operation, along with a turnover of GBP160 million.

THE ROLE

This role will be reporting directly in to the Site Director and will be operationally responsible for the delivery of the site strategy, driving operational excellence, meeting financial targets and developing key relationships with customers and suppliers. You will be part of the senior management team at site with multiple direct reports, critically reviewing management capability and ensuring development, recruitment and succession plans are in place.

You will input in to the site supply chain strategy, deliver the site Health and Safety plan and control the capital investment and overhead base of the site to deliver customer expectations whilst meeting 2SFG targets.

As the Head of Operations, you will control and continually reduce the cost of manufacture to deliver labour and material variance targets through a site manufacturing improvement plan. You will also ensure the effective integration of the S&OP process at site level between Operations and Commercial as well as driving site communication and engagement.

ABOUT YOU

* Experience of managing a site of 1000+ employees, and at least GBP50m+ turnover within the food industry

* Proven experience of delivering successful change management & performance improvement programmes

* Able to build effective cross–functional relationships with both internal and external customers to create mutual trust, understanding and respect

* Ability to drive cultural change

* Operational excellence experience

* Clear evidence of talent management/people development experience at all levels

* Self–motivated and highly resilient

* Strong financial and commercial acumen

* Change orientated
