Job title – Senior HR Business Partner
Location – Kingston, KT1
Contract – Temporary ongoing – minimum 3 months
Hours – Full Time 37 hours per week Monday to Friday between the opening hours 9 AM and 5 PM
Start Date: ASAP
Our clients People & OD has a shared service model, which is going through a big transformation, programme and all roles in the new structure, have an essential role to play. They are embarking on an ambitious Future Workplace Programme and will go through a rapid period of intensive service requirements gathering to define future requirements and lead on change. Including how leadership, management and performance culture will transform.
???Responsible for the day–to–day direction, supervision and management of the HR/OD Business Partners and Advisors and any other staff allocated.
???Provision of a range of complicated and sensitive professional advice, guidance and support to Directors, Senior Managers and Elected Members to a consistently high performance.
???Act as Change Ambassador for HR/OD initiatives and projects across the councils
???With the OD Strategic Business Partner lead an enabling OD function by strategic thinking to challenge and influence strategic thinking to shift emphasis away from management dependency to management independence
???To give innovative solutions to people management procedures and practices by taking managed risk approach working closely with other HR/OD Services colleagues to have a full understanding of the needs of all the service areas
???Ensure HR/OD delivery compliments business need and transformational change
???To lead, via the team new innovative and developmental projects as requested to enable fast and effective organisational change and to meet increasing customer expectations and improve value for money
???Working with OD Strategic Business Partners to ensure consistency with traded services customers where appropriate having the overall lead on Strategic HR/OD interventions to include policy evaluation, implementation and development with an emphasis on enabling managers through the streamlining of processes, creating toolkits, workflows/development programmes to reduce reliance on HR advice, maximising ICT functionality as appropriate.
???To play a lead role in developing and promoting a culture of co–operation and continuous improvement, with a customer focus across the councils, identifying improvement opportunities and recommending remedial action as necessary.
Essential Criteria
*Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (MCIPD).
*Substantial experience of managing in a large and complex OD shared services environment
*Experience of successfully managing a significant service area in a large and complex public sector organisation
*Successful experience in managing significant service change with a focus on increasing efficiency and improving customer service
*Proven experience of effective team management and developing individual team members
*Experience of managing strategic objectives of organisations and the impact an OD function can have
