Head of Commercial Strategy - Marketplace

The Company:

My client is a London-based series D start-up marketplace which has established itself in the UK and expanding into European markets. They are looking to add a Head of Commercial Strategy to their team.

The Role:

The primary purpose of the role will be to manage Commercial Strategy at the client. This is an exciting Greenfields role within the organisation driven by the growing importance of finance to their overall proposition. As Head of Commercial Strategy you will work closely with internal stakeholders to develop an outstanding digital customer experience as well as drive business performance and growth through lender relationship.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Commercial delivery and growth of the client's consumer finance business, expand consumer finance activity, drive profitable growth rapidly

• Drive the commercial strategy for FS related marketing, product development and sales whist at the same time maintaining an awareness for the risk management policies and regulatory environment of partners and third parties

• Full P&L management of FS including all commercial aspects, budgets and profitability

• Develop lender partnerships and optimal commercial structures, negotiate contracts and monitor ongoing performance

Requirements for the role:

• Demonstrable experience of managing P&Ls (lending/credit in an FS environment, in a commercial or product role with significant partner interface in a digital business

• E2E knowledge of all functional interfaces in the lending journey within a retail environment

• Previous experience with strategic partner management

• Direct experience and or a deep understanding of E-commerce and marketing skills, including brand development

• Previous experience in a start up or scale up is preferred but not essential

• Strategically minded, creative and analytical thinker
