Job Title: Engineering Director
Location: Derby, Stoke, Uttoxeter, Stafford
Contract: Full Time and Permanent
Salary: GBP80,000 – GBP100,000
Appointments Personnel are currently recruiting for an Engineering Director to lead an established engineering department. You will manage our client's infrastructure and ensure all internal systems operate efficiently and effectively. As an Engineering Director you will be responsible for planning and directing all aspects of engineering activities and customer projects within the organisation.
To be successful in this role, you should be confident managing teams while, at the same time, be able to provide technical responses and solutions to complex sales queries. Our client uses innovative technologies to maximise productivity to develop and build great products, in turn resulting in business growth. This role will have varied responsibilities to include an operational and strategic approach alongside a very in–depth technical element. The strategic aspect includes day to operations, setting goals for the team and prioritising projects. The technical aspect is about getting actively involved in developing new products, identifying requirements, managing complex tech projects and knowing how to build products and features from scratch.
Key responsibilities as an Engineering Director:
?? Deliberate with management, production, and marketing on the possible requirements and procedures for a project.
?? Organise and manage projects, making detailed plans that work towards the fulfilment of a set objective.
?? Ensure that all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformity with the organisation's established policies and processes.
?? Utilise best practice engineering methods to provide expert technical guidance for engineering initiatives.
?? Examine technology, organisational resources and the demands of the market in order to plan or give procedures for projects which are practicable or possible.
?? Manage the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities and equipment, making sure they are executed by the personnel responsible
?? Direct, evaluate, and confirm product design and changes.
?? Direct the negotiation of research contracts and prepare budgets, bids, and contracts.
?? Set technical goals in the confines of the organisation with the aid of management.
?? Consult or negotiate with clients to decide resources required for a project.
?? Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the organisation.
?? Perform administrative functions such as evaluating and writing reports, approving expenditures concerning projects.
?? Ensure designs conform to CE requirements, adhering to health & safety standards.
?? Recruit, assign, direct, and evaluate employees in their workstation.
?? Manage and mentor a team of Design Engineers.
?? Communicate with key stakeholders.
