Electus is supporting Cable & Splicing Services (CASS) a telecommunications contracting specialist. They have won a major contract and have several opportunities available.
They specialize in delivering turnkey telecom services in fibre, copper, network civils for fibre cities and highways in the UK. They integrate technical disciplines within all legacy, modern and new build communication infrastructures – they do this on both small and very large–scale projects across a broad spectrum of industry, commerce and public access networks.
They are currently recruiting for an experienced and accredited Telecoms Project Manager – Copper and Fibre to join the team at Claverdon, Warwickshire depot.
The ideal candidate would be South Midlands/Warwickshire/Worcestershire/Birmingham based.
Role Overview:
To work as part of Cable and Splicing Services (CASS) Claverdon Site Project Services team as a Project Manager. This role carries a range of duties to allow the maximum availability of all Rod and rope, cabling & fibre gangs in the context of fulfilling planned and remedial works.
To work as a lead part of the key Project Services team the Project Managers role will suit a practical and well organised fibre minded individual who holds over 5 years operational fibre works and control experience.
The ideal candidate shall have key knowledge and all practical Telecommunication and fibre aspects of UK Fixed Network Telecom Operators' practices and standards within the BT network.
In order to succeed in the position, the Project Manager will need strong communication skills, not only for their internal team and field engineers but also with the customer. The candidate will need to understand the pre–planning key stages ahead of deploying gangs with full regard to customer needs, deadlines, and requirements for the local HA authorities.
In your role you will be responsible for:
*Manage work stack
*Accept, reject and assess new job packs
*Manage internal team
*Manage deployment of gangs
*Understand Solo and Orion
*PON building
*Build strong relationships with Telent/BT
*Plan tasking for all forecast jobs
*Direct planning and management of works allocation
*Reporting on work stack levels and managing all planned and completed and started jobs/sites.
*Manage fleet allocated to Project Manager
*Ensure records are kept for user: Pre–issue checks and calibration validation for all tools/equipment issued to field engineers to ensure full regard is given for PUWER regs and H&S obligations.
You will have the following qualifications and be able to prove experience and competence.
*Must hold a full UK driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points on your licence
*Experience with managing both office and field based teams
*Knowledge of Telecoms Network Build
*BT/Openreach and PIA accreditations
*Safety conscious and compliant
*Excellent communication skills
*Risk assessment and hazard identification and a strong focus on Health and Safety practices
