About the role
Our client has a fantastic opportunity for a Head of IT Operations and Security to join their Information and Technology Directorate. Are you an experienced and passionate IT professional who is seeking a new challenge to develop and contribute towards a growing and agile organisation? In this new role you will lead and manage the Group's Technology Service Operations team, in line with the overall objectives of the Directorate and the Group, ensuring continuous improvement and the delivery of a first–class service.

You will be responsible for managing the Infrastructure Operations Team, Security Team and Service Delivery Teams. You will also oversee the Cyber Security Strategy and lead on Technology Service Operations projects, applying an appropriate project methodology and project structure.

In this key role you will also work collaboratively with other members of the Senior Management Team to deliver effective growth and continuing success of the business and contribute to the development of the Technology operational and strategic plans, supporting corporate objectives and embedding corporate values and behaviours throughout the Group.

Our client wants somebody who has:
BS/ MS in Information Technology or related discipline or relevant experience (or equivalent)
Service Management Qualification (ITIL or equivalent)
Security and Network certifications
Senior IT Management experience
Prior experience of building multi–functional ICT teams
Experience in liaising with end–users for insight on functionality, interface, problems, and/or usability issues
Practical experience implementing/ managing ISO/ IEC 27000 series standards within complex organisations
Experience of preparing performance reports for consumption at executive level
Experience of budget forecasting and management
Experience of management server hardware and technologies
Previous experience of developing and implementing operational plans
A proven track record of delivering results in a fast paced and changing environment
Experience of working across a multi–site environment
Knowledge of Enterprise IT and / or Web based infrastructure and the ability to pick up new technical knowledge quickly
Knowledge of Azure Cloud & VMware technologies
Advanced knowledge of Active Directory
Knowledge of Storage appliance and technologies
Understanding of Microsoft Stack, Architecture and Licencing (Office 365/ Sharepoint/ MS Dynamics 365)
A natural leadership style with excellent managerial and motivational skills

Initially Home Based there will be occasional office based working in the future, therefore you will need to live within a commutable distance of our client's Solihull and Worcester offices.
