Pertemps are supporting our public sector client in Edinburgh, with an Interim role for a Project Manager on a temporary basis, starting immediately until 30th June 2021. There is an option to extend up to a maximum of 23 months after this. This post is currently based remotely, although when things return back to normal will be based in Saughton House, Edinburgh once reopened. This is a full–time post working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Main Duties
Assuming responsibility and authority for delivery of high profile and business critical projects within the Directorate to time, quality and within budget.
Developing and delivering project plans and managing risks and issues.
Managing delivery in line with project plans and reporting on progress and exceptions to the Programme Manager/Portfolio Management Office.
Identifying and managing dependencies between projects and across the Programme/Portfolio.
Identifying, engaging with, informing and influencing stakeholders, including staff, to ensure their commitment to successful delivery of projects and programme.
Working closely with colleagues in reporting, supporting and supplying advice and updates to the Programme Board/Portfolio Management office, Senior Officials and Ministers on the progress of your projects and workstreams.
Leading and facilitating a range of working groups formed to assist with the delivery of projects.Essential Skills
Experience in Managing Delivery of projects or work streams – including the ability to manage people through significant change
Excellent communication – written, oral and presentational skills. Ability to present to senior management
Effective team leadership skills, with the ability to manage conflict well
PRINCE2 Practitioner certificationDesirable Skills
Experience of producing formal papers and reports
Knowledge and experience working with corporate IT applications including Microsoft Project, Visio and Excel
Good practical experience of risk management processes and development
