We are currently recruiting a Group Finance Director on behalf of an Owner-Managed Group of companies. The role will report directly to the Group Managing Director and will be responsible for a team of four permanent staff. The role carries full responsibility for the finance team, finance systems, and the finance contribution to board discussions. The focus will be on:
The candidate will be a qualified Accountant possibly looking for a first role as a full Group Finance Director. They will have at least 8-10 years post qualification experience preferably in an industrial environment. The group has ambitious growth ambitions and is acquisitive so high energy, positivity and ability to handle and drive change are essential. However, this is a small team so hand-on involvement will be needed, as will good people development skills.
- Improving day-to-day finance operations, leveraging newly installed ERP systems.
- Upgrading the management reporting, which recently was brought in-house.
- Creating new KPI/dashboard reporting.
- Working with the group managing director to drive business performance.
- Developing and mentoring the team.
- Supporting the integration of acquired businesses.
- Month end closing and reporting.
- Cash management including invoice discounting.
- Statutory audit and relations with professional advisors.
- VAT and other tax returns.
- Spreadsheet analysis.
- SAP experience is preferable but not essential.
