ADVERT – DIRECTOR OF CARE ACADEMY

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Cornwall Care as Director of Care Academy, reporting to the CEO.

Cornwall Care is a leading provider of care services in Cornwall with 16 homes providing both residential and nursing care along with a community service caring and supporting vulnerable people in their own homes across the county. Their aim is to "Transform the human experience of giving and receiving care by creating relationships and connections between people that fulfil both wishes and needs, celebrating and focusing on doing the 'right thing' in the right place at the right time".

With all services rated 'Good' by CQC, Cornwall Care have ambitious growth plans to be Provider, Employer and Trainer of choice within the region and beyond. An exciting range of initiatives are underway to achieve this.

The Director of Care Academy will be a key strategic player in leading and supporting this transformational change and will form a close working relationship with the Chief Executive and Chairs of the Board and People Committee, to ensure that the opportunities and means are in place to provide assurance that our talent is being developed to support the growth aspirations of the Chief Executive and Board.

The successful candidate will be a dynamic and inspirational leader of the Care Academy as a new Centre of Excellence within the health and social arena, having the ability to drive forward positive change and ensure the quality and competency of the workforce. Be a key player in driving strategic and transformational activity, ensuring that the Care Academy facilitates all learning and development systems and processes, whilst supporting the organisations approach to career development, including creating career journeys and identifying and creating learning opportunities.

To deliver this role, you will have the ability to engage with key stakeholders, identify and implement innovative ideas and constantly strive to exceed expectations. You will demonstrate a track record of strong leadership, influencing and consultancy skills.
