Public Sector Business Development Manager

Reporting directly to the Head of Public Sector, this highly specialist position is entirely focused on identifying and securing new business opportunities for the public sector team. The Business Development Manager will be expected to work with the existing public sector sales team and the tender's team to create and manage an expert mapping process to identify and target the most appropriate opportunities to reach and then exceed budget.

A day in the life of a Public Sector Business Development Manager at phs will involve;

* Achieving annual new business revenue sales target

* Creation of a very strong pipeline of opportunities; at least ten times sales target will be required in order to achieve objectives

* Creation of opportunity mapping across public sector

* Pre–Tender engagement with identified target opportunities

* Input at tendering stage with reference to key win themes, pricing and differentiators

* Working with the existing public sector sales team to identify and close opportunities

* Accurate and timely sales forecasting and pipeline management

* Extensive use of Salesforce CRM ensuring that all activities, contacts and opportunities are recorded accurately

* Managing your own diary and determine inputs required to deliver success

The ideal candidate for the Public Sector Business Development Manager at phs will:

* Demonstrable experience of selling to public sector customers in a challenging and complex environment (7 years plus)

* At least 5 years' experience of selling in a service–based industry

* Integrity, honesty and a proven desire to be the best for both your customers and the business you represent

* Demonstrable understanding and evidence of outstanding communication skills with both internal and external customers

* Highly developed relationship building skills are required, as is the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels

* A good team player who has a track record of being a 'brand ambassador' in previous roles

* IT literate with a strong background in using CRM tools such as Salesforce, Excel and other Microsoft tools

* Ability to see the bigger picture and to plan strategically

* Ability to work on own, planning diary and working autonomously within your defined role

* Willingness to push yourself to learn and develop new skills and to go the extra mile to get results

* Full clean Driving License is required for this role as travel will be extensive
