We are currently recruiting a Head of Planning & Logistics for a leading manufacturer.

With a reputation for leading products, the business is searching for a Supply Chain Leader to take a lead role in the strategic planning and development of the material flow inbound through production to dispatch.

The role will have responsibility for developing and implementing the Supply Chain strategy, building KPIs and SLA's for site operational performance. The successful candidate must have proven leadership qualities and be able to mentor, coach and develop individuals that directly report into the post, while empowering the rest of the team to drive performance.

The role currently covers Material Inbound, Warehousing, Stock Control, Planning, Inventory, and Distribution. We are looking for an individual with a proven skillset in this area.

Key outcomes of the role are to impact on all of these areas:

* Reduce Inventory
* Improve Inventory Turns
* Increase Supplier Performance, both internal and external
* Drive Cost Reduction Initiatives
* Increase OTD

The Head of Materials, Planning & Logistics calls for an experienced and professionally qualified professional with considerable experience in supply chain management, ideally within automotive, aerospace and high volume manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities will include:

– Development & delivery of integrated processes to achieve optimal supply chain performance through the relevant sector supply chains
– Manage and report on work in progress and physical stock to meet targets across the business
– Ensure compliance with the Company's Supply Chain/Logistics Policies and Standards
– Be a leader, with a passion for supporting the development of people, whilst maintaining the commitment to make difficult decisions as necessary

The person:

– Strong commercial acumen
– Ability to build MP&L functions that are synonymous with outstanding operational excellence
– Demonstrate a track record of success in leading and developing multi–disciplined teams within the supply chain
– Have the ambition to progress within an innovative operation
– Have the ability to lead a multi–disciplined team
– Be a proven change enabler, driving Supply Chain improvements and operational excellence
– Degree/MBA or equivalent
– Have a high degree of IT acumen particularly with ERP / MRP
– Proven supply chain experience from Automotive, Aerospace, Marine & Shipbuilding, Oil & Gas environments that are Tier 1 or OEM

The business based in Knaresborough North Yorkshire, nr West Yorkshire and the surrounding towns and cities of Leeds, Wakefield, Hull, York, Bradford, Harrogate, Dewsbury.
