The Opportunity
Just Eat Takeaway is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Senior Business Analyst to join the Platforms domain. The successful analyst will be joining a supportive and motivated team. We are looking for an autonomous and committed individual who will help further our efforts to promote best business analysis practices across Just Eat Takeaway.
Key Responsibilities
As the Senior Business Analyst – Platforms, you will be responsible for:
- Driving collaboration to ensure a shared understanding of requirements and solutions across the teams and stakeholders in all impacted teams and departments.
- Establishing how to best support the Product Manager in translating complex business needs into benefits, defining the project's scope and ensuring scope meets the product vision.
- Identifying process changes that may be required elsewhere within the business due to a new implementation, driving process re–engineering and facilitating the adoption of new processes within the affected areas.
- Working closely with the Product Manager on stakeholder engagement activities.
- Working with stakeholders to carry out analysis for discovery work.
- Proactively finding innovative ways to promote the Business Analyst function within technology and throughout the business.
- Actively participating in the BA community, sharing learnings and identifies areas for contributions.
- May provides mentoring and coaching to less experienced Business Analysts in the department, and may take the analysis lead on more complex projects with multiple Business Analysts.
- May have line management responsibilities and provides developmental guidance to reports, working with counterparts to ensure alignment across the business.
- May assist with the recruitment process for Business Analysts, and provides insight and recommendations to the allocation of Business Analysts within the department and may provide some line management to a small number of Business Analysts.
Candidates for this role should be able to:
- Analyse complex problems and breaking them down into coherent features, products, and projects that may span departments across the business.
- Facilitate workshops and project inceptions with stakeholders at all levels.
- Drive collaboration and fosters strong working relationships across teams and departments.
- Assimilate information with ease and grasps new technology, tools and processes quickly.
- Elicits risks and dependencies, proposing solutions for mitigation and communicating to the teams.
- Consider the impact on the wider business when analysing potential solutions, making recommendations and influencing solution selection.
- Improve and develop new business processes and systems with impact across the business.
- Manage requirements and project scope to ensure new solutions meet business objectives.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills.
Required skills and experience
Experience and Knowledge
- Working on a business–critical project, impacting multiple teams within the department.
- Working on moderately complex initiatives requiring business change.
- Continues to improve the core BA skill–set and expands knowledge of other disciplines with support and guidance.
- Understands and uses a range of techniques for eliciting and documenting functional and non–functional requirements.
- Has an understanding of the technology being used across their domain of expertise, and can communicate this as required to non–technical stakeholders.
- Has a good understanding of the commercial drivers and may help influence the direction of the product vision and can communicate these to the team and relevant stakeholders in the absence of the Product Manager.
- Has a good understanding of a range of Agile delivery methodologies, can support team process improvements and shares successful changes with other teams in the department.
- Works independently, taking the initiative and may work on a team without a dedicated Product Manager.
- Is a domain expert with the ability to identify cross–team and cross–departmental dependencies and synergies.
- Works with teams and Product Managers to prioritise work accordingly.
