Financial Controller – Innovative Building Materials Company – up to £65k – South East
Our client, an innovative UK construction materials group, are currently looking for a dynamic and driven Financial Controller to take ownership of the finances of two of their South East based businesses. Reporting directly to the group’s Finance Director, the successful candidate will manage the day-to-day finances of two separately successful companies, one long established and another breaking new ground in major infrastructure projects.
The role will include a strong element of business partnering – the Financial Controller will be required to work with people across all elements of the business, to investigate, challenge and drive efficiencies. You will be supported by a Credit Controller and Purchase Ledger Clerk in each of the businesses, with two days a week in Ipswich and occasional travel to locations in Surrey and Northamptonshire.

The Role:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts including variance analysis
- Ownership of all balance sheet reconciliations
- Reviewing and authorising payments
- Cashflow monitoring and forecasting
- Ensuring tight financial control framework across both businesses
- Ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements (VAT, PAYE etc.)
- Ad-hoc accounts analysis to support the Finance Director and General Manager
- Experience with the preparation of full management accounts
- Proven, effective management of a finance team
- High level of proficiency in MS Excel
- Ability to work collaboratively with both finance and non-finance colleagues
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines
- Experience of manufacturing industry preferred
- Experience of Sage 200 and Epicor systems an advantage
- Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) ideal
