Our client is a leading national manufacturer looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to ensure the sales and profitability budget is achieved by the development of profitable project wins and the approval of the company's systems by Clients, Main Contractors and Roofing Contractors.
Above will drive efficiency improvements within the business to ensure we maximise effectiveness and hence business profitability. You will be Reporting directly to the Commercial Director but working closely with the Internal Sales and Technical Marketing Team.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for gaining opportunities to bid for large projects/contracts and managing the conversion process completely through to won business.
Key tasks include:
* Achieving a sales budget for projects and contracts and agreeing the figures with the Commercial Director
* Setting up a process to monitor progress on projects and contracts based around the CRM system.
* Regularly updating the Commercial Director and Internal Sales Team on progress.
* Establishing a process for gaining market intelligence for forthcoming potential opportunities. Developing a contact network to provide early warning of opportunities.
* Establishing criteria for qualifying opportunities to maximise effective use of own time and company resources.
* Representing the company professionally when bidding for projects and contracts ensuring that all documentation and correspondence is to the highest standard.
* Gaining experience of new sales processes and technologies particularly for conversion of Quotes etc...
* Achieving personal sales and profitability targets, pipeline volumes and conversion rates.
* Taking part in monthly Sales Team meetings, as appropriate.
* Visiting existing customers and potential customers with Commercial Director and/or staff to assist in winning new business and raising the company profile to develop future opportunities.
* Supporting the Commercial Director in specific sales/marketing and business development activities.
Skills:
* High level of technical knowledge regarding modern construction methods, products and applications.
* Ability to read roof plans/ drawings.
* Ability to offer innovative design solutions to complex building problems.
* Thorough knowledge of the Roofing industry or construction background and able to have good inter personal skills and a good communicator.
