Strategic Change Manager Utilities
Location: Birmingham

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a fantastic opportunity to work "client–side" for a major Utility business. This role is focussed on Operational (People/Process) Change Management and Implementation, not Technical / IT or digital Transformation.
You will be responsible for a team of programme managers who will ultimately deliver the transformational change and although this is a strategic (key influencer role), it is important you are able to delve into the detail when required, from a supportive, team mentoring perspective.
There are multiple major scale programmes running at any one time so the ability to work at PACE, with agility is critical. There will be an element of multitasking across programmes, therefore, someone who is used to working on longer–term change projects (eg 2–year project) won't suit this type of fast–moving environment.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
Director/C–suite level experience
Experience working in regulated industries (telecoms preferably, Utilities etc.)
Experience managing large–scale (GBP100m+) fast paced change portfolios / programmes
Experience working within a large, matrix type environment.
Highly analytical and structured approach with first–class critical thinking.
Experience in delivering Agile Business Improvement Activities.REQUIREMENTS:
Accountable for leading and managing the delivery and adoption of strategic change to upscale fibre build capacity from over 1m to 3m pa and delivering efficiencies of GBP100m+ pa.
Leading a team of project and programme managers (and consultants) on the delivery of complex change projects from design through build, deployment, handing into sustain through quarterly sprint cycles with the change being considered as BAU.
Able to challenge, influence, negotiate and innovate at the very highest level – and rapidly build trust with the MD and executive team.
Develop and be accountable for an agile business improvement strategy.
Aligns all people, process, systems & tool changes with defined business strategy and agreed governance frameworks.
Taking personal responsibility for key stakeholders at a senior level on behalf of the projects; working closely with the operational sponsors / senior leadership to manage the relationships; coordinating the activities of the matrixed teams to mobilise the programme.
Ensuring the team have and own a robust deployment plan, considering wider business, supply chain and external factors, to ensure a successful rollout of the change, across large proportions of the workforce.EXPERIENCE
Qualified to degree level or equivalent.
Experience of leading large scale delivery of complex change.
Experience in delivering Agile Business Improvement Activities.
Experienced in the disciplines of process management, consultancy, relationship management, and team building.
Demonstrable experience working on high profile, strategically important projects, including solving complex, unstructured problems.Benefits
