Commercial and Project Director

A fantastic new opportunity has arisen within a globally recognised manufacturer of bespoke assemblies for a Commercial & Projects Director.
Reporting to the Chief Executive, as Commercial & Projects Director, you will become responsible for the overall co–ordination, the functional management and leadership of all the sales, new business projects and marketing activities of the business.
Role and Responsibilities:
The role of Commercial & Projects Director will involve the following:
* Take ownership of the management of the commercial, projects and marketing functions in the business.
* To ensure the cross functional teams deliver the objectives for new product introduction projects, ensuring use of best practice project management techniques.
* Build relationships with potential new customers and ensure that existing relationships with current customers are maintained to a high standard.
* Drive sales with new customers to increase revenue and growth to achieve the Company's growth plan.
* Prepare plans, budgets and progress reports.
* Support customer meetings and visits at all levels regularly to ensure uniformity of communication with the customers.
* Develop goals, objectives and priorities and assign to the team.
* Assume overall responsibility for developing the annual marketing plan for the Company.
* Plan the strategic market planning, marketing research programmes and control the marketing budget.
* Keep up to date with recent market and industry trends, competitors and customer strategies.
Experience and Qualifications
* Excellent sales and negotiation skills
* Previous experience in a business development, projects and marketing environment.
* Experience of operating within a manufacturing OEM or Tier 1 environment
* Relevant Project management experience, ideally with some qualification (PRINCE 2)
* Strategic planning skills.
* Leadership Skills.
* Language skills preferred.
* Financial Management Skills.
* Computer literate in Microsoft Office programmes.
* Clear and confident communicator.
* Ability to work calmly under pressure.
* Degree level
