Energy & Carbon Management is one of the longest established and leading independent UK energy consultancies specialising in the procurement and management of energy, water and carbon services. E&CM are part of the Inspired Plc Group.
The role of Business Development Manager involves the acquisition of new business relationships and the introduction of a range of energy procurement, Energy Accounting and optimisation products to corporate energy consumers, through pre–appointed meetings with wide range of contacts from high–level executive to shop floor.
Applicants will be self–motivated and performance driven, ideally with 2+ years previous experience in a sales based role ideally field based. This role would also suit candidates looking for their first step into a field based role and under the current restrictions candidates with a background in phone based sales roles such as recruitment would be considered. Responsibilities include:
Attend prospect meetings across the UK through pre–appointed meetings by our Telesales partners to present E&CM's full range of Energy Consultancy Services to a wide variety of commercial I&C energy users.
Complete meetings notes, next actions and log opportunities within our CRM system in a timely manner
Develop, track and manage a sales opportunities pipeline
Schedule additional calls and follow up meetings with prospects
Negotiate contracts to generate and maximize profitable revenue from sales opportunities
Work with other departments within E&CM and the Group to ensure a mutual understanding of sales requirements
Process customer sales contracts/orders through our CRM and assist where required with contract mobilisation
To provide weekly/monthly MI as required by the Business Development Director
Understand product offerings and competitive issues to develop solution proposals
Attend exhibitions/seminars as and when required
Represent E&CM in a professional manner at all times
Ideally 2–years previous experience in a sales role
Desire to learn a new industry sector and be hungry for personal growth
Proven track record of B2B sales activity and success
Capable sales negotiator and influencer with the ability to develop and deliver professional sales proposals
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence a range of key stakeholders from shop floor to Boardroom
Qualifications, Skills & Personal Qualities
* Ideally 2–years previous experience in a sales role
* Desire to learn a new industry sector and be hungry for personal growth
* Proven track record of B2B sales activity and success
* Capable sales negotiator and influencer with the ability to develop and deliver professional sales proposals
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence a range of key stakeholders from shop floor to Boardroom
* Team player
* Good organisational skills
* Strong commercial awareness
* Ability to prioritise activities and to meet tight deadlines
* Highly self–motivated with a positive work ethic
* Support and motivate other team members
* Excellent written and presentations skills
* Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office
