JOB TITLE: Business Development / Project Manager

LOCATION: Edinburgh (Remote Working)

DURATION: 6 Months +

SALARY/RATE AND BENEFITS: Negotiable DOE

YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING: A good understanding renewable energy technologies particularly onshore wind.

Key Accountabilities

* Project management on onshore wind project in the later stages of development up to Final Investment Decision and handover to construction.
* Ensure that projects are delivered in accordance with applicable Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) policies and procedures and take a proactive role in managing SHEQ performance for each project working closely with the Construction team and other key stakeholders.
* Prepare and own the investment case for projects, managing inputs from across the business and external suppliers.
* Manage projects through internal governance processes and external deadlines, involving relevant internal stakeholders as appropriate.
* Responsible for coordination of internal project teams (including analytical, engineering, construction and asset management colleagues).
* Manage project budget and costs, completing appropriate project management documentation.
* Support the negotiation of agreements required for the delivery of projects including land leases, planning condition discharge, grid connection, construction, plant procurement and operational contracts.
* Engage stakeholders to secure a route to market for projects such as a CfD or Corporate PPA.
Manages project budgets day to day.

Key contacts / relationships / stakeholders managed:

The role is expected to work closely with teams across EDF Renewables (UK and Group), including Strategy and Analysis, Development and Consenting team, UK and Group CTO teams, engineering and procurement teams.
Externally the role is expected to build relationships with stakeholders which may include landowners, planning consultees, other developers and aviation stakeholder.

Person Specification

As a Business Development / Project Manager you will ideally have experience of both project management and investment case development for onshore wind projects but individuals
without some of the specific skills or experience may also be considered if they are able to demonstrate an ability to adapt and learn once in the role.

In particular the following skills / experience would be advantageous:

* A degree in a relative field.
* Must be a team player with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across the business and at all levels.
* Able to demonstrate commercial acumen and a willingness to learn and improve.
* Ability to think strategically and understand key technology and commercial drivers.
* An ability to be inventive and show determination to overcome challenges.
* Enjoy working in a fast–paced environment, be inquisitive and have a can–do attitude.
* Experience with in a project management environment, where you demonstrated high management standards.
* Experience within a project environment where organisation and attention to detail were key in delivery.
* Experience of working within a cross functional project business or matrix structure.

Functional / Technical Skills

* A strong understanding and experience in implementing project management methodologies.
* A good understanding renewable energy technologies particularly onshore wind.
* Understanding of the project life–cycle and key project risks for renewable generation technologies
* An ability to review detailed contractual documents and a working understanding of the laws which impact the renewable energy sector for the technology the role is working with.
* Financial modelling / business case development including a high degree of commercial focus, with an ability to construct a compelling overarching narrative for each project, whilst ensuring the highest quality standards.
* A sound understanding and experience of the market, policy and regulatory environment and route to market challenges for renewable generation in the UK.
* Strong communication and presentation skills.
* Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
