OVERVIEW & SCOPE OF ROLE:
The Financial Controller works to support the Regional Finance Director as well as working closely with site operations on local projects which will make a tangible difference to the business. As a key member of the site's management team, the role will have broad interaction with a wide range of stakeholders both on site and in the region.
Responsibilities
Overall responsibility of running the day–to–day Finance operations of the UK business; including financial reporting, management reporting and internal control:
* Responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual balance, PL and other management reports in line with the Morgan Group policies, procedures and deadlines.
* Ensure adherence to Group Internal Controls and lead internal audits so that the entity is compliant to Adequate status or above.
* Formulate long– and short–term plans, budgets and other business planning activities in close collaboration with the site management team.
* Analytics and presentation of Morgan Reports, Plan–Actual data analytics, cost analytics.
* Production of statutory financial statements in line with International Accounting Standards (FRS101).
* Work closely with the Operational Management Team to support decision making and Continuous Improvement activities with full finance responsibility for all site business decisions and projects.
* Develop and maintain best practice procedures for Finance.
* Development and preparation of Capital Expenditure requests.
* Responsible for statutory annual audits.
* Preparation of tax information for Corporation, VAT, Payroll and other taxes.
* Responsible for working capital control and cash management.
* Other Project work as required.
Environmental, Safety, Risk & Compliance
* Supporting the Morgan thinkSAFE ethos and leading by example at all times.
* Acting with due care for the health, safety and the welfare of themselves, fellow employees, employees of other companies and general public.
* Observing health and safety procedures and following arrangements for health and safety.
* Following the Morgan Code of Ethics.
* Support EHS related CAPEX and other activities with cost/benefit calculations, analytics and proposal preparation.
Experience required
* Professional accounting qualification, preferably ACA/CIMA with post–qualified experience ideally in manufacturing.
* Knowledge of IAS, UK Tax and regulatory requirements.
* Excellent PC skills, especially Microsoft Office and experience of report writing.
* ERP familiarity.
* Confident and excellent communication skills both written and oral.
* Strong presentation and visual management skills.
* A methodical and organised approach to tasks.
* Strong intellect with an ability to rapidly identify key issues, to see the big picture and apply the "common sense" test.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a diverse team in terms of seniority, function, etc. Able to maintain high self–motivation and demonstrate resilience in a fast–paced environment.
* Attention to detail and ability to deliver to the highest standard, within rigid timeframes.
* Responsive and self–motivated.
