Elevation Recruitment Group are pleased to be retained by one of South Yorkshires most successful manufacturing businesses to recruit their next Head of Engineering.
The business turns over in excess of GBP80m per year and employs over 300 people in the local region alone. Based near Rotherham and close to the M1 and M18, our client is a market leader and supplier of specialist products into highly regulated sectors around the world.
The Head of Engineering will be responsible for all maintenance, facilities and capital projects across their large site. Reporting direct the MD, the Head of Engineering will lead a team of c35 people.

The Head of Engineering's duties and responsibilities include:
*To act as a professional and trusted advisor to the business on all maintenance and engineering matters
*Work closely with the Site Manufacturing Manager and play a vital role in the senior management team, providing outstanding people and management skills
*Develop, lead, implement and maintain an engineering strategy that is effective, efficient, to budget, well–managed, flexible and able to adapt to changing production circumstances
*Manage the department to ensure that production can achieve the target of planned output and deliver a planned maintenance programme with consideration to optimising production and reducing downtime
*Ensure that capex expenditure projects are completed to specification, on time and in budget
*Responsibility for installation, maintenance and improvement of production lines, managing contractors and ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
*Degree educated or equivalent in engineering–based subject
*Health & Safety qualifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH
*Proven experience in an Engineering Manager role within a heavy manufacturing environment
*Experience of managing multi–million maintenance and capex budgets
*Proven track record in impacting on continuous improvement savings
*Budget management and responsibility, departmental and capex
*Extensive experience in CAPEX process and management
*Ability to manage multi priorities and projects, whilst working in a dynamic environment, under challenging timescales
