Working for a Tier 1 contractor's Infrastructure division focused on major projects 50million+ in value.

Salary: – GBP90,000 – GBP100,000 basic + Car or Allowance + Package

Role Description

This role sees you taking full control of large Infrastructure projects from the tender stage through to project award and delivery. With projects ranging from 50million to GBP200million in value with a duration covering 2 – 6 years depending on the bid & tendering process through to completion and hand back.

You need to be experienced in all aspects of a major project as you are the Project Director running the scheme in its entirety. From controlling the tendering & design stage through to the programme planning, commercial and operational delivery. With a team under you you need to ensure each element is delivered as per the client's requirements.

Managing the stakeholders both client side through to the internal Infrastructure MD managing all associated risks from delays, contract variations and commercial exposure to the business. Although a Tier 1 contractor there will be project where JV's are set up with other Tier 1 contractors depending on the size, scale and nature of the project. In that case you will be the Project Director representing the organisation but you may also step up to be Project Director for the JV.

Projects can vary but will be UK based, All under NEC forms of contract, with a focus in the Infrastructure sector. Due to the governments push on Highway improvement schemes this would be an ideal background. This role is to be kept separate from HS2 looking at other schemes around the UK with a focus on East Anglia / Home Counties and South East.

Qualifications / Experience

HNC / HND / Degree in Civil Engineering or related subject
Experience as a Project Director or Project lead for a large 50million+ scheme under NEC form of contract.
Cambridge is the initial location but flexibility between home based working and office means you can lodge away 2 days a week on site and home base for the other 2 days.
